Criteria: |
Bearing the motto of Belgium, "Union constitutes power," the Order of Leopold was conferred upon men and women as a personal decoration of merit. More commonly awarded to inventors, writers, statesmen and other citizens who rendered notable service to the state or society, military recipients received the Order of Leopold, with crossed swords between the crown and the cross, for valour on the field of battle. |
