From Mimico, Ontario, George Chisholm Mackay was the most successful of the many Canadian pilots who flew with 213 Squadron. He served with the Squadron from 2 November 1917 until 15 September 1918 when he was wounded and taken off the Squadron's strength. During this period he amassed over three hundred hours of combat flying and was promoted to Captain and also served as a Flight Commander. He destroyed twelve enemy aircraft and drove down, out of control, a further six making him the leading pilot in the squadron in the number of enemy aircraft destroyed.
