Guérin joined the army in 1913. After serving with the infantry, he transferred to the air service in 1916. Guérin was wounded in action on 11 May 1918. He was killed in a crash when his SPAD VII spun into the ground.
FAMOUS AIRMAN KILLED.
   Paris, Friday.—Lieut. Gabriel Guerin, one of the best known French "aces," with 23 German machines to his credit, has been killed in an aeroplane accident. Lieut. Guerin had been mentioned on 12 occasions and had received the Military Medal and Legion of Hounour.—Exchange
