Adam, Hans Ritter von
Married with two children, Ritter von Adam served in the infantry until he was badly wounded on 2 September 1914. Recovering from his wounds, he transferred to the Fliegertruppe and often flew as an observer for Eduard von Schleich while assigned to FA(A) 2b. Flying the Albatros D.III, he scored his first three victories with Jasta 34. In the summer of 1917, he joined Jasta 6, becoming Staffelführer on 30 August 1917. He was killed in action near Langemarck when his Albatros D.V was shot down, possibly by Kenneth Montgomery. His Knight's Cross with Swords of the Order of the House of Hohenzollern was awarded posthumously.
