Giovanni Sabelli received Royal Aero Club Aviator's Certificate 178 on a Deperdussin monoplane at Brooklands on 30 January 1912. He is believed to have helped Bulgaria form an air service in 1912 during its war with Turkey. On 9 May 1917, he joined 91^a where he scored five victories before he was shot down in flames by a two-seater.
