Preparing for a Combat
The pursuit flight is a continuous acrobatic performance. In order to defend yourself on all sides you must not fly straight. One must bank slightly on either wing, in such manner as to be able to see what is going on on all sides. The renversements and sharp turnings are employed to prevent being taken by surprise from the rear. You must take your enemy by surprise and avoid being taken by surprise yourself.
