The son of Joseph and Frances Owen, Hugh Leslie Owen was an actor from 1910 to 1912. He served with the East Kent Regiment before transferring to the Royal Flying Corps. As a Bristol F.2b observer, he scored 7 victories with 48 Squadron in 1917.
