The son of Anthony Oaks, Harold Anthony Oaks was living at Preston, Ontario when he enlisted (CEF # 500705). He was wounded on 24 August 1918. Post-war he was awarded the McKee Trophy in 1927 and became a well-known bush pilot. He was inducted into the Canadian Aviation Hall of Fame in 1974.
