The son of Rev. J. H. L. Joslyn, of Abernathy, Harold Waddell Joslyn served with the 68th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force before he transferred to the Royal Flying Corps in 1917. That summer, flying the Bristol F.2b, he and observer Frank Potter shot down an Albatros D.V flown by German ace Alfred Ulmer. Joslyn scored 6 more victories before he was killed in action.
