The largest bomber in service on the Western Front during the Great War, the Zeppelin Staaken R.VI was powered by two pairs of back-to-back engines. It was the first German bomber to carry 2,200 pound bombs and made numerous raids over Great Britain. Of eighteen R.VI bombers produced during the war, only one of them was produced by Zeppelin Werke Staaken and none of them were lost to enemy fire.
