Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) |
Lieut. (T./Capt.) Alfred Stewart Hemming.
A courageous and dashing officer, whether engaging hostile aeroplanes in the air or attacking enemy troops, transport, etc., on the ground. He has accounted for eight enemy machines—three destroyed and five driven down out of control. During recent operations his boldness in engaging enemy troops was noteworthy and deserving of high praise.
