Although born in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Giorgio Pessi chose to fight for Italy and in 1917 he adopted a new identity: Giuliano Parvis. On 6 November 1917, Pessi shot down Austro-Hungarian ace Rudolf Szepessy-Sokoll. Flying the SPAD VII, he downed six enemy aircraft during the war. |
