Hahn began his career in the infantry but transferred to the German Air Force. Having learned to fly in 1913, he was an experienced pilot when the war began. For his actions over the Somme, he was the first Jasta pilot to be awarded the Saxon Military St. Henry Order. On 26 April 1917, he achieved his fourth victory, shooting down French ace René Doumer of Spa76. Six months later, Hahn was killed in action, shot down by French ace Georges Madon of Spa38. |
