As a member of Jasta 58 in 1918, Dehmisch downed five balloons and five enemy aircraft. Over Abancourt on 24 September 1918, he had just scored his 10th victory when he was shot down by the S.E.5As of 40 Squadron. Severely wounded, Dehmisch died the following day.
