The son of Frederick T. White, a baptist minister, Harold Albert White emigrated to Canada. He was an engineer in Brantford, Ontario. He joined the Royal Flying Corps in 1918 and was posted to 23 Squadron later that year. With this unit he scored 7 victories flying the Sopwith Dolphin.
