William Geoffrey Meggitt served with the 3rd Battalion of the Welsh Regiment before transferring to the Royal Flying Corps; confirmed in the rank of Second Lieutenant on 2 November 1915; promoted to Lieutenant on 31 March 1917. He was reported missing in action on 8 November 1917 but was wounded and captured by the Germans.
