The son of William and Harriet Hines, Sergeant George Frederick Hines was an observer with 62 Squadron in September 1918. That month, he and his pilot, Lieutenant Patrick Sarsfield Manley, scored five victories flying the Bristol F.2b. They were shot down and captured by the Germans on 27 September. Both men were repatriated when the war ended. |
