The son of William and Ellen Gladman, Cyril William Gladman was an electrical engineer, apprentice when he enlisted in the 28th Battalion of the London Regiment on 24 November 1915 at Chelmsford. He scored 8 victories with 11 Squadron before he was badly wounded in action on 14 August 1918.
