After serving with the Canadian Expeditionary Force, Symons was seconded to the Royal Flying Corps in August 1916. Lieutenant Symons received Royal Aero Club Aviator's Certificate 3602 on 22 September 1916. Posted to 65 Squadron in late 1917, he scored six victories flying the Sopwith Camel. |
