The son of William and Caroline (Stewart) Orr, Osborne Orr sailed to England to join the Royal Air Force. He was promoted to temporary 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) on 10 March 1918 and posted to 204 Squadron on 1 August 1918. On the morning of 23 October 1918, his flight had just completed a bombing mission when it was engaged by enemy fighters near Termonde. In the battle that followed, Orr and four other Sopwith Camel pilots were killed in action. |
