Serving with the 75th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, Harold Arthur Sydney Molyneux received a head wound in the Battle of Vimy Ridge on 9 April 1917. When he recovered, he transferred to the Royal Flying Corps and received his pilot's certificate in October 1917. As an S.E.5a pilot, he flew more than 70 sorties against the enemy and was credited with shooting down five Fokker D.VIIs. During World War II, Molyneux served with the Royal Canadian Air Force.

   During the August operations this officer rendered conspicuous good service on low-flying patrols, causing much damage and inflicting heavy casualties, showing brilliant dash and resolution. He is a bold fighter in the air, and has accounted for two enemy aeroplanes.
