The son of William and Alice Kate (Hodgson) Dalrymple, Sydney Dalrymple sailed for England aboard the RMS Medina in June 1915. He received Royal Aero Club Aviator's Certificate 1815 on a biplane at London & Provincial School, Hendon on 4 October 1915.
He was posted to 27 Squadron in France on 22 May 1916. Flying the Martinsyde G.100, he scored his first victory during the summer of 1916. After serving with 24 Squadron as a flight commander in 1917, Dalrymple was posted to 139 Squadron in Italy the following year. During 1918, he scored four more victories as a Bristol Fighter pilot.
His marriage to Nancy Moule was registered in Victoria in 1921 and his death was registered in
Victoria in 1969. |
